Responding When It Mattered Most
Following the August 4 Beirut explosion, Lettus Grow Greener mobilized an emergency volunteer response under the campaign name: "Sawa Nhna Ldawa" (Together We Are the Remedy).
Although originally an environmental initiative, LGG expanded its role to support affected communities during the national crisis.
Volunteer Mobilization
- 50 volunteers recruited and organized
- Students and adults working side by side
- Different nationalities and religions represented
- United under one humanitarian mission
Field Work (4 Months)
Cleaned damaged homes across affected neighborhoods
Removed shattered glass and debris from buildings
Cleared affected streets to restore accessibility
Operated daily from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM for four months
Continued operations during COVID restrictions
Humanitarian Support
- Provided food to families in need
- Identified vulnerable cases in affected areas
- Referred individuals for medical assistance
- Supported surgical intervention for urgent cases

While LGG's core mission focuses on sustainability and food waste reduction, we believe community resilience and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.
